Naphthenic oils are single or Multi cyclic saturated hydrocarbon ring saturated cyclic hydrocarbons. Each ring may contain 5 to 6 carbons. Because of their low viscosity index, naphthenic oils are used in heat transfer applications such as metalworking. good low temperature properties makes it suitable for use in hydraulic oil formulation.
